In Remembrance: "Kennedy the Warrior" Griffith

The definition of the word champion is "one who fights; a warrior." And that is precisely how we'll remember our 2011 Tennessee Champion ambassador, "Kennedy the Warrior" Griffith, who passed away December 18, 2012. She faced her battle with bone cancer with inspiring strength, honesty, openness and humor. Kennedy was a writer, an artist, a music lover and a beautiful role model to fellow patients, her family and her entire community.

In September 2011, we were lucky to spend a few days with Kennedy in Washington D.C. Though her actions and attitude spoke volumes, we'll forever take her encouraging words to heart as we work to raise funds that may one day find a cure for cancer:

"Don't give up on anything because it's hard."
